The machine as I knew it then was our company. When my boss would give me an assignment I would cry out, half-joking, "Abajo de la Machina!" which means down with the machine. It became a regular phrase, but maybe Ayn Rand has a better idea of what the Machine is. I just wish she could say it a little more brevity.
